Future 240sx owner

Hey everyone

As my title says, I will be becoming a future 240sx owner. Im planning to save my money up this summer and hopefully find a 91-94 240sx for around $3k. I come from a Honda/Acura background so i will be learning more about Nissans later on. Be glad to hear your responses about the 240's pros and cons and looking forward to be on this forum.

Thanks

Im really looking forward to owning a 240sx. Was thinking of getting another Integra but I want to learn how to drift

I have a question to ask. Is it possible to swap a KA24DE head onto a KA24E block?

Say I go down to a junkyard and find one, what would be a rough estimate of a KA24DE be with low mileage?

QFT...if you are going to get into this much work, go with turbo if anything.

If you have more money than god and just want to be different then go for it...

Good luck. I started with a 1966 Mustang GT, then 1988 Mustang GT...then got into the FWD deal, 1992 GSR, 1997 GTI VR6...1996 Saturn SC2 (I actually miss this car...I bought it as a cheap college commuter, but it was definitely a lot quicker than my modified 240SX...just suffered the same pushing out on a hot turn that all FWD's do + no ability to really 'throttle steer').

I was debating 1988/1989 Porsche 944 Turbos at the time...couldn't find any below $20k with decent interiors and mileage. Found out the 'kouki' I saw in college that I thought was a custom front end was actually a 240SX. I loved my buddies 1990 hatch way back in high school (it was new).

I was hooked. Many of my coworkers question my 10 year old car (it looks brand new) choice...but I have no intention of selling anytime soon.

Fun to work on, the parts are reasonable (not as cheap as honda though), and the car is very reliable. I can't complain other than wanting more power.

Thats what I wanted to hear. I had fun working on my Integra so I'll definitely have more fun working on a 240sx because of the RWD platform. Engine bay looks more functionally to work on than with a transverse engine.

I forgot to ask this question and is probably the main reason I am buying one. Do 240sx get good gas mileage? Im trying to shoot for 30 mpg since I am paying above $4.30 for reg

they get decent gas mileage 22 to 28, but I drive mine a short commute and wind it out often so I get 17-19mpg. On the highway I approach the 28 mark.
