hello all...im a newbie

helo guys, im new to this website. Just went to a police auction and picked up a 1991 Nissan 240sx SE Coupe w/ 91,250 miles on it. Body and everything else looks damn good if not awesome.....ive never owned a 240 before and my buddy has 2 s14's. Is there any common problems with 240's i should be aware of? only thing i ask, when i start it...it fires right up without a problem in the world, but it had a hole in the exhaust pipe(which just got exhaust wrap to quiet it up) but everytime i push the gas peddle down...it puffs out a lil white smoke. Nothing thick like a james bond smoke screen, but enough to see through the rearview. The car sat in the aution yard since 4-13-08....maybe longer but thats what was on the window. I was told the smoke isnt nothing to worry about-just the engine not being started in almost a year is what its problem is. Anything guys? thanx alot

Dump some Alcohol in the gas tank. Maybe you have some bad gas. Rubbing alcohol, not beer or vodka. HaHa. They also make some stuff called heet. It helps remove the condensation from the car sitting. Also pull out the plugs and clean them or replace them. Use OEM parts if possible.

regular ngks are good and the smell it could just be bad gas or a bad cat.

Yeah, OEM parts are best replacement for stock motors. That is what is was made to run with from factory. If you do turbo or advance the timing, then a colder plug would be better.
