Hey Everyone, Newbie Here

Hey everyone. I just joined this forum today, 12/23 in hopes of getting some information and to make some new friends. I currently do not have a car, reason being I just turned 16 a month ago. I'm getting a car next month, and have been looking for 91-93 240's w/ a 5 Sp. tranny and in good condition, and have yet to find an affordable one. I've been wanting a car for a few years now, way before the recent drift craze hit America. I know these cars are becoming more and mroe common, but I don't care. Are there any problems the 91-93 240's have? I'm specifically looking for the fastback (180SX, well, kinda). Thanks.

EDIT: I DO plan on doing the red-top SR20DET engine swap myself, I'm really good w/ cars and motor work. For the swap: the average price for all the required parts (including FMIC, downpipe, and intake) is about $3200. How much would you guys recommend having other than that just incase some stuff may go wrong?

Well welcome to the forums, have fun and such.

I know how you feel man, It is getting harder and harder to find a decent 240 now a days. And as for the SR..make sure to have at least 4k for just the swap, You never know what can go wrong and its always good to have that extra money lieing around.

There aren't too much s13's are known for. Tie rod ends needing replaceing, removing the AIV, thats about all I'm aware of. If you're doing a swap the miles won't really matter. Check for rust, and other than that the typical wear items.

SR swap prices crawl up on you, most people expect 3K and end up just over 4, so keep that in mind.

Welcome to the forums, for more sr questions go to the engine swaps forum, or search for the SR20. If you're looking for a cheaper althernative, you can look into the CA18DET, another option. If you're good with engines, why not rebuild the KA and go KAT?

welcome hi hi hi.

Great idea with the engine swap... but in the meantime, get used to your car (when you get it) as much as possible! I don't know how many times I've talked with people who buy RWD S13/S14/FC3S/ etc. thinking that driving an RWD is the same as driving your mom's Accord.

Not that you're newb... but you are 15 so I figure you don't have that much "behind the wheel" experience yet.

But good choice on the S13... you won't regret it (over a HonDUH)

I've driven a lot of RWD cars, so I have a little bit of experience, still not enough though. How'd you know my mom had an Accord lol?

Ya know, thats what this whole forum is for, so stand up, stretch out, and by god you make a post dedicated to you and yourself and you watch how many people post and say hi to you and various other things that probably wont make much sense....

anyways, welcome to the forums too sin
