Hey new too the 240sx/silvia scene!
Hey guys and gals, just wanted too say hi. Just bought my first Silvia, I'm new too the import/new car world. I've always been into old stuff. But I'm in the Air force and they moved me too Japan so I decided too get a car I've always loved! Well a little about my car it's a 1990 Silvia with a CA18DET, it already had an apexi boost controller and boost gauge, and some exhaust that i don't know the name of but is really quiet. This is my first forced induction car so I'm really new too it. I'm thinking i wanna build it into a track/dd, more on the track side though. Not really into drifting but that seems too be all they do here! But any help and advice anyone can give would be great! The only problem is I don't even know where too start, or let alone get parts over here, so if anyone has any suggestions on that it would be appreciated! Thanks
well first you can come join us american tuners at hipertekspeed.net japan based forum.
im at misawa and will be coming to yokota hopefully soon.
zeroyon.com is where all the yokota tuners hang out.. thanks for checking us out here,, but to be honest its not much on a parts side that this site would be able to help you with. however, there is a good deal of s-chassis knowleadge here, so we are not completly useless.
one thing you will notice is. you will probabaly buy more things from the states then you will from japan. parts are just as expensive and with your work load and shipping, it may just be easier to get it from the states.
now as for drifting. your car probably aready has a VLSD thats enought to get sliding with.
if you want to drift just keep it simple, becuase WHEN you crash, things will be easier to replace. there are many tracks down that way.
