Hey guys, I'm going to buy a car when I turn 18 this spring, so i'm just checking out my options, 240s being one of them. I'm not necessarily looking into "fast" cars, just quick & sharp handling cars I can afford and develop my autocrossing or drag skills (sounds corny, i know). i'm sure speed will be a factor eventually though, so 240s look like a good start =)
I've been browsing 240/Silvia FAQs and the forum, enough to want to drive one and hopefully buy one in the near future.

welcome... learn as much as you can about the car and you'll know for sure if it's what you want to get

Welcome!! One word of warning, not to discourage you from buying a 240sx as it's a kick a$$ car, but when you plan to autocross don't go there with any delusions of winning. My 240sx with a cold air intake, short shifter, and exhaust put me into class STS. I was racing against turbocharged WRX's. Yeah....but if your looking for a lower budget car to have a blast with I highly recommend 240's!

Yeah, I've been into WRX's for a while and have wanted a Sport Wagon (hehe, sleeper). WRXs are great cars with lots of potential, but being new they are kinda out of my price range since i'll be paying for everything myself. So i've got my choices down to DSMs (inlcuding Starions and Colts) or 240s... or a plain-jane commuter car.

btw, miatas can kick WRXes ***** all day long, seen it happen. =) short wheelbase+ light weight + peppy engine= zoom zoom.

lol, sweet it's cool to see another autocrosser on here. And yeah I've seen miata's tear the hell out of a few courses. Actually the car that surprised me the most was the Scion XB when it first came out. I was like "Hah that things gonna just roll over!" Well, long story short it won H-Stock by 2 seconds.... The guy that was driving it was certifiably a really good driver but still, 2 whole seconds!! I was like wtf?
