Hi....

whast going on!!!! My name is mike and im from queens NYC...... and i just bought a 1991 240sx about a year ago!!!! It is my first car i ever owned so i really dont know that much about it!!!! ANywyas I lucked out becuase the car only has 839004 miles as of the morning!!!!! Bought it of an older guy for $800!!! I will post up pics in a couple of days....oh yeah its a red 2 dr hatchback.

Question

I know im not supposed to be asking newb questions...but i searched and i couldnt find it!!!! i am trying to do an oil change in my car and i was wondering what oil should i use

Welcome to the forum! Don't know what to advise you on the oil, it's like I use a different brand every change.

lol...i went to the store and just got some castrol GTx 10w 30...i changed my oil and my car runs worse then before!!!!! once i got it off the stands the engine startd shaking while it was running and every time since it just shakes and i dont get the full power the the engine!!!!! anyone have an idea????? if u need to know anything else just let me know!!!!!

I don't like Castrol, but I wouldnt imagine that the oil would do that. Did you try running the codes or anything like that? Did you put too much or not enough oil in?

The 2nd post says how to do it and how to interperet the codes.

But in a nutshell, you unbolt the ECU from the car (passenger side kick panel) and turn it around so you can get to the screw on the side. Turn the screw and the LED will flash, first slow flashes then fast flashes. The slow flashes are the first number of the code, the fast flashes are the 2nd number of the code. (FLAAASH FLAAAAASH flash flash flash would be code 23 for example)

+800k miles?

that thing has got to be worth a pretty penny to some collector.

i like castrol, but i don't recommend a synthetic, not even a blend.
