New to the 240SX

Been a 1991 240SX SE hatchback owner for 3 days now.
Bought this one on 11-8-03, still figuring out how stuff works.
It is a blast to drive, don't want stop and get out.
22k miles, 5-speed, new tires, have original window sticker.
Got rid of 1976 Plymouth Arrow GT 2000cc 5-speed in 1991, been driving automatics since then, it is a treat to have 5 on the floor again.
The way that 5-speed shifts is sweet.
Got it home and changed oil & filter, gas filter, air filter.
Runs great.
What grade gas are you folks using ?

welcome! glad to hear that yet another person has experienced the bliss and unbridled rapture that is owning a 240. i know what u mean about not wanting to get out of it. only 22K miles?? for a 91?? that works out to roughly 1833 miles/year. i'm running 92-93 (different stations here have different ratings for premium). and, likey JynX said, there's a pretty big thread here involving octane for ur searching pleasure.

yeah, there was quite the thread. Our cars were made for 89-91 i'm told, so definately go for one of them. 87 entry level fuel isn't as effecient and will sometimes cause your engine to ping.
Let us know if you have any questions, all we ask is you search first!

Not a typo, 22k miles is correct.
Always garaged.
So far have not noticed a single scratch or ding, may see some when I give it a first wash.
Looks to me like it has never been waxed, will be doing that.
Manual sun roof.
Alloy wheels.
Power windows, mirrors, locks, cruise control.
Has air conditioning but have not run it, may find it needs a recharge but maybe not.
Had plastic mats over the front foot wells, so carpets and the carpet type floor mats are like new.
Red with gray/black cloth interior.
Seems to be puuuurrfect.
Also has owners manual and the 1991 240 Nissan shop manual.
Like to get those clear parking light lenses, think clear would look cleaner against the red paint. Put in amber colored bulbs ???
Looks like you can get fog lights that go in the bumper below the parking lights.

Price - Mileage

Paid $4k.
Original owner was retired when he bought it.
So it was not used for commuting to work or shopping, was used as 2nd car.
Most miles are highway 150 mile (one way) trips a favorite recreation spot.
It really is in fine condition, expect it to be pretty much trouble free for quite awhile.
It will also be a 2nd car for me, not a daily driver and is parked under a carport cover to avoid the worst of the elements.
Would like to keep it in this good condition for a long time.
Thinking of putting silver accent tape in the indent that runs along the sides at door handle level.

Can you guys tell me about getting the clear parking light lenses and the fog (?) light that mounts in lower bumper ?
