New 240sx owner

Hello,

I spent 2 days trying to get a password for my new registration for ********** which refuses to be sent to me, so.. I'm now a club240.com registered user instead! heh.

I just purchased a 91 red 240sx se on the 14th. I'm looking forward to learning about it (and fixing the input shaft bearing or whatever it is that makes such a loud noise unless the clutch is pushed in, and fixing the rusty hatch... and putting in new speakers..).

Just wanted to say hello. And if you're bored, look at my car!

www.red**********

(or, because I just registered the domain a few hours ago and may not have propagated yet..)

True fact from Maxim; October 14 2004 was the first day since 1999 in which no one in Chicago was shot.

Just threw that in because I only read it yestarday...

Welcome to the forums !! This is a great place to learn as much as you could possibly wish about 240sx's as long as your willing to search and not just beg for answers.

Unless you have a decent jack and stands and some friends with some decent muscle I wouldn't recommend trying to drop the tranny and fixing whatever issues you might have.... Trust me on this one. Just take it into a shop and tell them your deal.

Heh.

Thank you for replying.

I don't have any muscle, I'm not that much of a gearhead type girl. However.. my dad thinks that we can fix it with 2 days of work. He also has some friends that can help depending on the issue. We already have a few theories, I just need to do more searching and then I'll find the right section to post about it.

I would be ok with taking it to a shop, however in this family thats like some sort of blasphemy. heh

I've also already decided to screw the whole getting a new hatch thing, for now at least. I think I'm just going to fiberglass it for now and then wait to find a perfect hatch. Actually other than the huge gaping rust holes my hatch is in great shape! heh.

But ya.. I'm really looking forward to learning all about it (and being able to drive it again, 3 days was not enough). I've already bookmarked many places and even downloaded an FSM in .pdf thanks to the boards.

Ahh..

Ya, I gave up after a few days, I just assume this place is much better because it let me in. Which means you're all doomed! or something.

*goes back to searching for the answer to her car woes*
