Hey everyone, my names Joe and im new here to the 240 boards. I have a few questions here.....

Im planning on buying a s13 with no motor for around a grand. That will leave me around $5k-$6k to play with. I was looking around at motors and im leaning towards the rb25det, still undecided on a motor. The car will mainly be used for drags and maybe a little drifting if any, also a daily driver. So with the rb25 in mind and a s13 body thatll leave me with about $3k. I wont have to worry about bodywork because my dad is in the business and very little if any will be needed.

So right about now im just looking for suggestions on what you guys would do if you were in my position. Thanks for your replies.

 

drag? LS1-2 ftw if your budget us 6-7k then best choice you got is RB25 for drag. what ever money left over do maint on the engine like new water pump oil pump timing belt and maybe metal head gasket if your gona increase the power alot

 

a car with no engine for $1k seems too high. it depends on the condition of the rest of the car though.
i once bought a running parts car for $300 it was in terrible shape and barley ran but for $300 i wasn't complaining.
