new member - many ?'s

hi i am Stephen i do not currently own a 240 but am desperately looking for a cheap one so my buddy and i can drift around (he has a black 91 i believe that he is currently building for a turbo and he got the car for $300) i hope to find something from $300-$700 but i got to save.

OK ?'s now: how do you know which engine your car has and which is best?
and if necessary how hard is it and how expensive is it to do a auto to manual swap?

before i answer any of that, i will allow you to search. if you are not use to it, its a good skill to gain.

the forums are labeled so that you can sorta guess what is where.

ahhh roger that...

so your not completely new to forums cool.

89-90ish sohc

91-mid 95 obdI Ka24de

late 95-98 obdII ka24de

only difference was the electronics. Any DE ka could go into any 240 with the proper electronics.

yeah i currently drive a 95 Volkswagen Jetta that is on its last leg of life (leaks coolant, burns oil, leaks a miniscule amount of fuel, broken front right spring, blown front strut bearing, a random occuring metal on metal screeching sound that happened last night) so i visit the forums for vw's to ask questions, etc.

ok when i got it it was leaking coolant i have the radiator to do it but not nice weather. it was also burning oil. due to lazy dpw workers my girl's street had a massive stretch of ice with 4 inch deep and 1 foot long potholes that i didnt know about so i am doing 30 mph and i hit it (bent a lip of my rim, got new rim, bent my spindle, already replaced that, and broke my spring, which still isnt fixed) it is amazing that this car is still alive and i beat the crap out of it
