New to Nissan

Hello all,

I'm new to the Nissan scene. I started with a 96 B18 Civic hatch I built but got tired of it. I currently own a 2004 WRX I built to Stage 2 with a new Intake system and protune putting down about 260awhp @ 17.2psi.

My car payments are getting to be a burden on me so I'm afraid the WRX has to go. I had a lot of fun with it, but bills are more important. Rather then get another Honda, I thought I'd try out a 240SX.

I've been looking around for the cars, they're not expensive and I've been looking at the motors. I'm thinking of going with just an SR20. I have just a few questions before jumping in:

What should I be looking for when shopping for a 240? Like what notorious issues should I look for right away and avoid. Naturally rust but that's a given.

Aside from a SR20 Swap, what else should I be looking for to put it in and make the motor more effective in the car?

I was looking into some basic power mods to go with the swap and I came up with a short list. Can someone tell me yay or nay and what else I may want to look into:

Gasket and Seal kit

Intake, Intake Manifold, Turbo Inlet

Radiator, FMIC, Header, Exhaust, Plugs

Question - What are the better ignition coil packs for the SR20?

Question - Where can I find an exhaust diagram. I tried the search but I guess I didn't hit the key words. Just the components I need to do a full exhaust including a cat.

Anything else I might want to look into?

Thank you all for your help! I look forward to joining this community of 240 owners.

there are lots of different engines that can go into a 240... https://www.s-chassis.com/forums/engine-swaps-13/common-240-engine-38496/

sr20 is the easiest of all...

when looking for a 240... just remember none of them are perfect and all of them have flaws.

and uh last thing... headers? I believe you mean exhaust manifold (also referred to as a turbo manifold)

and an intake you don't need, just a filter for the turbo, intake manifold you can get it, but not necessary...

you can use your factory radiator, you just need to buy a certain type of hose...

other than that, welcome..
