Nissan S13 240SX tune page
I am new to drifting and modding cars. I want to get a 1989-1994 Nissan S13 240SX and mod it.

What parts would you recommend me to put into S13? Could you give me a price list of the parts?
This car is mainly for drifting. My budget is about $5000 for the car and $5000 for parts + labor.
Thanks!

For 10k you would be better off buying an S13 that is already built. I can see you arent going to be installing the parts yourself anyways, so that is probably your best route.

in that case you should buy a shell for about $300 and do the work yourself. based on your time frame you can read up on everything you need to know and do the job for less than think.

What is your budget now? What are you goals(power, handling, etc)? You can drift with a bone stock car, so it just depends on how far you want to go.
If drifting is your main concern, a few thigns you would want to be sure to have on your list is a limited slip differential, suspension of some sort, wheels and tires, and ultimately some sort of forced induction whether it be KA-T or SR. Or a v8, but that is a bit pricey. You can drift with the NA KA, but it will become a limiting factor
My advice is to set your performance goals and do not sway from that just to get things done now. For example, if you want a SR swap, wait and save rather than upgrading the KA and wasting your money. If you can save up a little more than 5k off the start, you can buy decent already swapped cars for jsut a little more. XAT for example sells them complete. Alternatively, you could buy an inexpensive chassis and do the swap yourself, however this requires a fair amount of know how.

I was gonna say I know alot of people down here selling their drift ready cars. They are s13 coupes. Really clean, but I would follow charles lead and just build it up yourself. I'm going to be sliding my first event on stock suspension and a welded diff.

buy a 240, and try drifting with it bone stock. this way, once you become more comfortable then start doing the upgrade. you don't want to end up spending money and realized that you started of the wrong foot. start with what you have and go from there.
