noob to 240 community
wow, my very first post in this forum.
alittle about myself, i drive a '02 WRX which i frequently autoX and open track. have extensive knowledge on the WRX motor and what not and would like to learn about other platforms and other Japanese cars. have knowledge in MR-2, Supra, 300Z, Skyline, RX-7, and exotics but the 240 has just lately caught my eyes.
reasons for joining this forum:
trying to get my gf into racing, but her Accord V-6 just doesn't cut it. i use to own a '00 prelude Type SH and even that was a pain on the tracks. gave her an option of civic, integra, or 240 and explained platform differences and handling characteristics between FR, FF, and AWD she chose the 240.
now my job is to look for a 240 and try to make the handling, power, and overall feel of the car into a daily/race car like my WRX.
so far, i know what SR20DET stands for and done research on the Silvias but any information you guys can give me will be more then appreciated as i always like to learn things about carrs.

alright, trying to find the answer but can't so here it is, be patient with me and please don't flame me for this.
89-93 is the KA24D engine which is SOHC and
94 on is the KA24DE engine which is the DOHC right?
i have read people doing a turbo install on the KA24 engine which would actually make more sense because of the bigger displacement, BUT how strong is the KA block compared to the SR? asking because with the WRX engine, the US EJ205 is an open deck compared to the JDM EJ207 which is a semi-closed deck and there is a HUGE difference in those block strengths.
if the KA and SR block are the same, it would make sense to me to get the KA24DE (DOHC, if i am right) engine and turbo that puppy with forged internals since the block is the same and I GET A BETTER TORQUE characteristic form the extra .4 liter of displacement with the proper tune of course... i'm estimating probably alittle more then the SR swap in the end but the torque and turbo spool will be well worth it.
SO!! what do you guys think?

The Ka block is like a tank, you just got to know what your doing when turboing a Ka. It possible to get more hp out of a Ka because the Ka is a 2.4L where as the Sr is a 2.oL. Just got to watch those turbos. Or bye bye Ka.

If Im correct I think the S15 is,the S13 lighter is more easy to slide around thats why is so famous for drifting ,but the S14 comes close .Anybody with more knowledge can correct me but Im pretty sure the s15 does come close to the 50/50 Front to Rear weight ratio.
