New York isn't any better. Unless it's pre-1992, with over 165k, you won't find it for less than $2k. Many kids around here are very broke. They buy cars that have potential (S13's, CRX's, SR Sentras, AE86's) and rice/destroy them. They cut springs, buy cheap Advance Auto stickers, TRY to do their own body work...it's awful. I can't even COUNT the number of homemade rattle can paintjobs there are rolling around just here in Amsterdam. It's a shame.

As far as S13's go: There's a red pigsnout fastback around here w/ an obnoxious muffler, gutted stock cat, and eBay header. Tried doing bondo, tried putting in an electric fan (but he didn't use an in-line fuse...) and wanted to race me in my Grand Prix so bad he would whip U-ies in the street just to follow me to try to race me.
Don't get me wrong, my Grand Prix wasn't SUPER fast, but it wasn't a slouch for weighing 3600lbs.
My point is, these kids beat on and ruin their cars thinking that, because it's a good PLATFORm, that they have a good CAR. Uh uh..no no, big difference. That's also why the prices around here are so inflated. What happens in Miami and Cali hits her 2-3 years later.
