Sounds like boost creep to me. Very harmful if your fuel system can't support the extra boost. It doesn't sound like compressor surge. That's when the BOV can't bleed off the boost pressure between shifts and the pressure pushes against the blades on the turbo causing the fluttering sound like when you blow into a fan.

 

Hey, im looking at a Tial wastegate with a 1.0 bar spring. Anyone know if that would be a good replacement?

 

nvm i found a HKS wastegate actuator replacement and i think i will go with that. Its also half the price

 

i have the HKS one..you'll love it..and you can adjust the boost

plus, its cheaper

Yep...the HKS is a great piece. Not only can you up the boost, but it hold boost better

 

I finally got the wastegate in the mail and put it in. No more overboost, but i need to adjust it because its not boostin enough. At least it wont blow up now haha.

 

yeah..i had to do the samething. i first had it set at like 10...but, we all know how that is..

Well I still have a problem, the car isnt really boostin till about 4.5k, laggy.. All i did was install that HKS wastegate and adjusted the boost like 15 times. Never could get any low end, just top end. It does pull like a **** to redline, but i like to have some midrange too, any ideas?
