Should I buy?? Is it a good Deal?

I have a friend at work that is sellinga 92 240SX convertable Limited edition. It has a rebuilt motor, new top and rebuilt Auto tranny. The car inside and out is in good - great condition for its age. It has 211,000 miles on the car and 30,000 miles on the rebuilt motor and tranny. He wants $2700.00 for it.

1. Does this sound like a good deal?
2. What makes it a limited edition?

Thanks!

Man that is really a hard question to answer. There is no telling wether or not there are any other problems with that might trouble you later. Also, I hate to give someone advice unless i was able to see the car. But for the cost and the fact that you say that the engine is rebuilt I would prolly consider it.

I'm not really sure about what makes the car a LE. I'm also new to the boards. I think that the LEs had some sort of better interior treatment (ie. leather), but I'm not sure.

That is the key. Try taking it to a dealer for a safety inspection. If it's your friend selling, he shouldn't have much trouble with that, since a basic inspection should be free, or very cheap, and might help sell you 100% on the car. With the results in hand, you will know better what you're getting into. Even if you decide not to take it, he can keep the write-up on the issues and document exactly what works and doesn't work for other potential buyers.
