Well i am actually going to do it. im pretty fed up with this damn thing and its time to get a 240sx.
1991 TSi AWD 5spd
The good:
fresh rebuilt head-- new seals, guides, milled, pressure checked, vacuum checked.
Motor rebuild:less than 2500miles
1g-2g Rod and piston combo--NEW
Clevite Bearings.
ARP hardware minus head studs.
New JAM headgasket
Polished crank
new tensioner, pulleys, mitsu timing belt, water pump.
balance shafts removed
Misc:
Redtop Optima (relocated to the rear)
has no accessories under the hood except for alt. (no power steering, A/C, ABS)
Ported 14b turbo
Ported 2g Exhaust manifold
Ported 2g O2 Housing with new Sensor
2g TB elbow
K&N filter
SS oil feed line tapped into the oil filter housing
In cabin Turbo Smart boost controller
Dejon 3in Intake
Autometer boost gauge
aftermarket Oil pressure gauge
datalogging cable(no logger)
short throw shifter
Prothane motor mounts(3 installed 4th is still in box)
8mm plug wires
Brand new NGK plugs
Mobil 1 synthetic run into it.
Brand new t-case(less than 4000 miles on it)
Cat. has been romoved
The Bad
it does run and i took it out last night, and it runs really strong. but it smokes, BAD. im not sure what the deal is. i had the head rebuilt because i thought it was bad, new guides and seals. i guess it wasnt. I replaced the turbo because i thought it had bad seals. that wasnt it either. so i havent got any ideas.
The other thing is the trans. it shifts into every gear and Never pops out. but some syncros are bad so it sounds like you dont know how to drive a stick. the clutch is still strong and never slips(except if you dont know how to launch...LOL)
the body is in pretty good shape. it might have 1 or 2 rust spots but they are not even noticeable. minor dings and dents, some of the clear coat is peeling on the rear bumper and hood.
Car has 127,XXXmi on the body and around 2,300mi or so on the motor.
I have managed to run a 14.2 @ 98mph like 2 years ago in Illinois. That was on a completely stock motor and bad trans. just had an intake and boost controller. with what has been done to it i would think it could run mid 13's and then if you get the syncros fixed possibly low 13's to high 12's(depending on the driver) and then start putting more mods into it and who knows.
i just need to sell this thing. it has made me mad for the last time. im looking to get a 91-94 240SX coupe 5spd w/ LSD mostly stock.
