oh sorry i thought the dohc cam in 92 and up..i'll edit...i'm not planning on doing an sr swap (call me weird) becaue rite now i'm more interested in autox so most of my money will be going towards suspension (i don't even hav alot of money to begin with) and secondly i'm worried the sr won't pass emissions...if i do plan on turboing, i'd turbo the KA motor because of emissions..unless the sr can pass chicago emissions? not sure about dat...btw does any noe the weight ratio of a stock 240 and if the 91-94 (hardtop) models weight ratios were any different from the 95+? no one answered dat question in the general forum so..

Hey azian21485 I'm in chicago too. I got my 1990 (yes it is SOHC) But it only has some 50k miles on it so it was a good deal. One of the reasons I'm not going SR is because of the emissions. I plan on going turbo ka. I will not reprogram my ECU but run a piggy back computer which I will remove, and set the boost at 0 so it will be back to the regualer and I will pass. I love my car and so will you. GOOD LUCK.

I just want to make sure my car is at least running efficient and properly like it did from the factory this way I wouldn't have too many realiability issues. But your on the same page with me. Suspension then power

SOHC all the way. The only advantage to the DOHC is that the head flower better. I have heared that the ka24de that is at 7psi makes 240hp and a ka24e with 7psi is about 230hp so the difference in not enough for me to pay $700-800 for an ka24de. I plan on auto-x next year. It is going to be fun.
