A/C Compressor Problem

I have a 92 240sx and my a/c compressor died. I'm trying to buy a used compressor from someone I hooked up with that was parting out a motor. Problem is I'm not sure if it will fit. He has a 1990 model car and doesn't think the bracket will support the compressor on my block. Although I found on NissanPartsStore.com that Nissan used the same compressor from 1990-1993. Can anyone back this up about the bracket fitting the block and compressor? Thanks.

SOHC and DOHC KA's had different compressors. It can work, but you'll need a custom bracket.... similar to what you'd have to do to get one on an SR.

Is that pretty easy? On the SR doesn't just one bolt not line up? How would I make a custom bracket? Keep in mind I have NO IDEA what the bracket on the SOHC block looks like.

Here's the compressors from an SR, DOHC and SOHC in that order.

Basically you'll have to custom fabricate a bracket of some sort to get it to bolt on. I'd just get a DOHC compressor if I were you though. Save yourself the headache.
