dohc ka parts in sr?

well, here it is, my starter in my new sr 240 died last night and i still have my old ka 240 i am the process of parting. I have searched this site and other trying to find out if my dohc 240 starter will work, or even fit in the sr. They are both 5 speed, s13's neither have alarms. has anyone done this, i saw on thing on rebuilding a sohc ka to fit the sr but nothing on the dohc. Any help would be appreciated, and if you know if any other parts that are interchangable would be even better.

Thanks:
A loyal 240 fan

P.S. It is cold and dark here so i havent yet looked and compared parts yet, not to mention this just happened. I will be out bright and early tomorow to see what i can do, but as always if i get answers here first usaly makes things alot easer.

if the sohc starter works...so should the dohc starter...assuming the sr is an s13 sr and the dohc ka starter is from an s13 ka thats as sure as i am...since ive never dealt with OBDII parts

I work at napa auto parts and just looked into the cataloging of a ka24 starter and an SR20 starter which is off of a 92 sentra 2.0L DOHC I believe. and they are not one of the same. as far as making your ka24 starter work i'm not sure.

I actually rebuilt my SR starter tonight. I was surprised it worked out well. I bought a refurbished one for the SOHC for $110 and swapped the motor and solonoid to the sr one and it works great.
