hey everyone i had a couple of questions to ask for sites or where i would be able to buy them headlights where they have a 30 or 60 degree flip up point not the 90 that comes stock on the car... my car is a 1990 240sx so i hope to have someone help me with this also i was wondering i seen this one 240 with this bubble style front lights where would you get then at too???

Sleepy eyes is not a whole new headlight unit. All it is either a headlight controller, or someone winding them up using the ***** in the bay and unhooking the motors, or using switches and doing some minor rewiring. Theres tons of writeups everywhere for sleepy eyes, search around these forums, I believe there was a sticky in one of the sections.

I'm not sure which lights you are referring to when you say bubble lights though...

 

Yeah dude, my car has the brown wire sleepy eye mod done to it. It uses a switch to allow me to stop the headlights as they are going down. By bubble headlights do you mean S14 or S15 headlights or the headlights that eliminate the pop up unit and look a little like an integra's lights?

 

but i was wondering where could i go to get that done and how much would the sleepy eyes cost???

 

Sleepy eyes you can do yourself for free by either winding the motors using the ***** in the bay, or you can do the brown wire trick (pulling the headlight headlight button on the dash and cutting the brown wire), or you can spend like $50 or something like that and buy a headlight controller....

If you cut the brown wire, tape off the ends, then push the button in and turn on the headlights. Now turn off the headlights, and they should still be up, now proceed to double tap the headlight button until they are at the desired height. If you turn the headlights on, they will return to regular height though.

dude you just asked the same question like three times ..and got the same answer..they wont stay sleepy every time u turn your headlights off then back on they will return to normal position ...but u can just click agian to the desiered hight

 

i think he means flush mount. the whole flip up assembly is essentially the lenses, and the bulbs are just arranged to look straight ahead. couldnt find pics

 

Okay dude, listen very closely. I am about to explain sleepy eyes very clearly, or at least how mine work. When I have the "sleepy eye" button (can be either a switch or a button) turned off, the headlights work completely normally. When I push the "sleepy eye" button, I can turn the headlights off but they WILL NOT retract back down. I then quickly tap the button on the left side of the steering wheel, above the cruise control buttons, that normally controlls whether the headlights are up or down when they are not illuminated. The headlights will go down until I tap this button again (very quickly after I first pressed it). Then I push the "sleepy eye" button again and I can turn on the headlights. Yes, they will be pointing straight at the ground, but I can nonetheless turn them on. There is a very good write up for this on NICO (i know I shouldnt be promoting NICO) made by Vroom-Chirp, the guy I bought my car from. He is the originator if the lit sleepy eye mod. He explains step by step what you need to do to make this work.
