Exclamation Garmin Etrex

I got a Garmin Etrex GPS for my Ipaq. It was the least expensive way for me to get GPS tracking and directions.

Here is a pic of the unit:

I am sorry that the shots are crappy. I couldn't shoot with a flash. I wanted to show the results at night.

The Etrex is a stand alone GPS unit. It goes for $100. It will track your movements and other items. Here is a list:

Average speed.
Current speed.
Estimated time of arrival.
Trip distance.
Trip time.
Heading.
Height (feet above sea level).
Location.

I use the Etrex by itself when I have an idea of where I am going. I use the Waypoint function. You can mark a point when you are there or upload it with a cable connected to a computer. You instruct the Etrex to give you a general heading to the waypoint and it can tell you how long it will take you to get there by your average speed.

It is kind of like playing Grand Theft Auto. It doesn't tell you the exact street but it tells you the direction.

Here is a pic from the Garmin website.

The sucker is great. I can use it when I bike and the best when I want to get off the highway and take the streets.
