Talking look what i found!!!!!

check these bad boys out. bolt on 5 lug hubs. complete with bearings. they're like $550 a set. but they're tight, right?
so none of all the part swaping **** we thought we had to do to upreade brakes and wheels.
they are made to order but who cares???
what do ya think?

They look good and they've been out a while, but with those things they can be drivability issues later on, such as falling out sometimes. I feel that a brake Upgrade and 5 lug conversion is the way to go because you kill 2 birds with one stone. If you make more power you definitely need to stop shorter, so it would be in the best interest if you do both. But if your looking just for a set of 5x114.3 rims, then those would be a good alternative, but still pricey for what it is. Just my $.02

i think some guy in austrailia makes em.

damn, import. these actually fall-out but still if someone didnt want the brake-upgrade yet it would be nice to
"bolt-on" a brake upgreade .
but you do have a point about driveability issues.
i'd like to see long term results to see how they'd hold up to my driveing.

I agree with import. Has anyone seen how much the Gran Turismo brake upgrade is? the brakes they put on the s13 in this months SCC?

Ok, I'm nue to the 240 (an all auto mechanics in general), so I hope you can entertain my ignorance for a minute:

Besides gaining access to a wider variety of wheels and possible break upgrades, what is the big advantage to the 5 lug conversion?

better braking. if you plan on going fast you better have some damn good brakes to harness that power, or you can say bye bye to your car

So that means that there's a serious limitation on the brake upgrade potential of a 4 lug hub? I'm not being a wiseazz or anything, I just don't know.

well you can buy 4 lug big brake kits and so forth but if your gonna do it go 5 lug, more wheels to choose from. there is no serious limitation to upgrades, you can do the basic, slotted rotors, ss lines, and pad upgrade. That will improve your braking.

Rude nice find but I don't trust stuff like that. I want to install it and not worry about it.

Go for the whole job.

5 lug swaps open up an availability of better offset rims. The 5 lugs are tailored more to RWD cars that have nicer offsets than FWD. We are stuck with 4 lugs so we don't get the deep dishes that we all want.

sil40_mahem
5 lug swaps with concerns on braking power are not only for pressure but for fade. The contact patch is larger. The pistons are set to fade less as well as the disc being modified (slotted/crossdrilled)

I really don't know many people that would really need a 5 lug swap. I know I will catch hell for it but if you can deal with the 4 lugs and deal with the brakes keep them.

You can upgrade the rotors. You can upgrade the lines and the pads. As well as the fluid.

Bigger is not always better.

If you have the loot do it. Bang out the whole job in one shot. Get the suspension and brakes done.

What are your problems with your brakes now?

a five lug conversion, as far as the 300zx componets go, can wait till i have nothin else better to do.
in the mean time i use EBC green stuff. these pads are serious. with no ABS look out for lock-up. believe that

Keep the 4 lugs. Get the 300zx 4 lug drilled kit.

Take a look at it www.pdm-racing.com

Also as I read somewhere a while back another advantage to 5 lugs is better handling because its more balanced per wheel with 5 lugs vs. 4 lugs and thats the reason Honda made the ITR 5 lug and not the 4 lug all the others were.

But for our cars its kind of expensive for all those things so do as Stan said 4 lug big rotor and that should be cool.

I think those 5 lugs conversion are also made by cusco.
