Now I don't know much about the plug wires, but I had the NGK iridium plugs in my altima and, to tell you the truth, I noticed absolutely no difference. No perceivable power increases, no smoother running. In fact, after they got fouled up pretty badly (cheap gas, f/i cleaner & a lead foot) I replaced them with basic denso u-groove plugs and I couldn't be happier ($9.00 as opposed to $30.00). You know, those new E3 plugs look pretty cool too. Might be worth looking into if they're not too expensive. Just my 2 cents http://www.e3sparkplugs.com

Iridium spark plugs prevent early detonation, Iridium can take higher temprature loads, usually used for advanced timing and tunning applications.

Those E-3's look like the Tri-Tip Bosch plugs

but they said something about the electrode's
Nology wires s what I would get

They say that it makes idle smooth

Nology wires have capacitors built in for a more powerful spark.
I have read that Nology wires will give you a little more performance, but is bad in the long run.

And also puts you $100+ down. Spark plug wires are going to get you +0.7 rwhp. If your just doing a routine maintainence, some $25 NGK wires are good and like DaCheat said, you don't have to spend $30 on all four plugs, you won't really notice the difference. $3 plugs are fine.

i agree with the wires, somewhat.
but disagree about the plugs.

Ive seen the dyno's done on nology wires and seen a drop on whp actually. On stock motors, and not. With msd setups and without. I personally think they suck. Ive used ngk wires and seen an increase in them. In the way of plugs, ive seen a difference with the ix plugs in all motor apps, but havent really done any turbo testing on them. If your just running a basic setup ngk wires and plugs have been great. For more advanced setups the same can apply, but you can mess with the timing on the ix plugs more due to the bigger gap they use. For turbo i like colder sparking plugs myself versus the hotter ones. Bosch plugs ive seen and had nothing but trouble with. Wether its been import or domestic.
my view but from what ive seen on the street/track/dyno hopefully its some help.

chris.

I dont like bosch platinums, or any others for that matter, I put them in my acura legend about a year ago, and noticed little to no difference, except for the fact that when idling in my driveway, if i were to rev it up to about 5k really quick and drop it, it would backfire coming down, which it didnt do before. Its tearing up my catalytic converter. I hate them DONT BUY THEM... go with regular NGKplugs, they work great on the 240s

Good info. I am about to buy some wires and I was considering the nology hotwires but I was curious about the possible negitive effects from a build up charge. Where is a good site to buy ngk wires?

The performance on the Nology hotwires won't be too noticable...they are more for show than anything IMO

Yeah if you want better spark, get a MSD coil or ignition module or whatever. Thats proven power

BTW what does IMO mean?
