concerning spark plugs. the iridiums use a smaller electrode and get hotter quicker. and like someone said earlier prevents det. but again only worthwhile if youre pushing the limits of your AFR such that det. is a emminent problem. but lets say for arguements sake you are pushing that limit. iridiums will help in a physical sense by allowing you to run a bigger gap. itll drop cylinder temps some and in theory lessen hot spots because of the smaller 'trode (dont know about that last one) and again if youre not trying to put down a million horses out of your sr stick with ngk's youll need to replace them soon anyway.

but are you willing to spend your money on some random wires JUST because they are blue? its not like you have to stare at the wires while you're driving.

no but atleast when u open the hood u dont got blue accents, with a white car, with red wires and greeen somewhere. It's nice to keep it all "pretty"

Okay this is how it works. Higher compression = more ponies. Using sohc pistons in a dohc motor = more ponies. Higher compression needs higher octane. Too high compression ratio = blown up motor.

it is true, however the pistons are not the only thing you're going to have to replace to run 12:1 compression.
does anyone even make 12:1 pistons for the KA?

wait dont take advice from me? Why not? I didnt say that sohc pistons will do that much of a change. If im not mistaken, it will push compression right around 10:1. You would need to mill the head, and maybe stroke the motor to do that much compression. But beware that high compression can make our motor unstable. I would personally stay below 11:1 compression. But thats just me.
