Question Short Shifter, what do you think?

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...tem=7924279433

What do you guys think of this? I asked the seller and this thing is chrome, not gold...just a bad pic. I know b & m make good short shifters, but how about this one?

My friend bought an e-bay short shifter. It broke on him when he shifted into 2nd, lol. He was surprised it lasted as logn as it did.

yea

I knew b & m and C's were good, I also heard that b&m smokes the C's one in driveability....but the cheapest b&m i have found was 170 on ebay. I guess it isn't worth it to buy a cheapo and have it break.

instead of buying the Ebay one, just send me the money so it'll be used for something worthwhile.

I have a C's and it's pretty good, but one of these days I'm going B&M (version 2), so that should tell you what I think about all 3 short shifters.

170 is cheap for a B&M, I think it goes for 205 on PDM

If you're going with B&M, here's a tip - beware of the B&M shifter kits that INCLUDE a B&M shift **** - these are the older version 1 short shifters, which would buzz at a certain rpm range. The version 2 short shifters are quiet, with no buzz, and they DO NOT include a shift ****... so if you're ordering from somewhere, double-check to see if it has a shift **** included or not... there's a few B&M short shifters for S14's on Ebay right now for like $168.00, but they have the shift ****, so they're the older, noisy ones

thanks

I heard about version 1's having a problem, but I had no idea how to tell if one was a version 2 or 1...Thanks for telling me that. How long ago did they start making the version 2?

It's been awhile now, maybe 4-6 months already... if you're buying one just check for the shift ****, because only version 2's do not include a shift **** (or call the seller and ask in person)

I think the box is the same, part # is the same, pictures are the same. Just that the better one doesn't come with a shift ****.
