you mean in Iceland then? if so my car is imported from the us and the nissan dealer here in Iceland have only impoted one s14 that i know of all others have bean imported from the us and europe. All s14 made for europe are called 200sx and have the sr20det

 

Because at the time, the 240sx's main competition were Honda Preludes and Toyota Celicas - and in the U.S. most people see larger displacement as the better motor - before VTEC and all that crap came into play.

Prelude = 2.0
240SX = 2.4

It was a numbers thing, plus cheaper to do here since 1) KA24DE was already in the mass market in the hardbody trucks / Altimas, 2) no need to meet EPA for a new engine 3) this was their 'sharing everything' time when all Nissans shared a lot of stuff just so they can expand their product line
