Black Sunshine

Hi! This is Black Sunshine... 1989 Nissan 180SX RS13. I've had her since 2002 when I bought her at an auction in Zama, Japan for a mere 30,000 yen. She was bone stock and about as plain as they come. Since then, she has been transformed into what she is now. Her mods include:

- CA18DET complete rebuild and bored out to 1.9L (combustion chamber work)
- pistons polished
- combustion chamber polished
- CON RODS flash removed, shot peened/polished and balanced
- crank balanced and knife-edged
- match port/polished intake side
- match port/semi-polished exhaust side
- Tomei 1.2mm metal head gasket
- Nissan Skyline BNR32 fuel pump
- HKS GT2530
- TRUST FMIC
- Z32 AFM
- BLITZ SBC II boost controller
- Tomei Pon-cam 264 intake and 264 exhaust
- 550cc injectors
- BLITZ SUSPOWER LM intake
- BLITZ DD BOV
- custom alumi intake pipe from AFM to turbine inlet
- JIC control rods
- CUSCO front strut tower
- CUSCO lower bar
- ARC front and rear swaybar
- GReddy catch can
- twin electric fans from Nissan Largo diesel van
- TEIN HA dampening/coilover/Rouse Racing springs 12kg/10kg
- Apexi N-1 catback
- custom downpipe
- subframe bushings replaced with aluminum bushings
- transmission rebuilt; normal specs
- custom short shifter
- half- rollcage donated from FC3S (had to make hard perches)
- fender flares (front unknown and rear are Do-Luck from S13 Silvia) with custom rolling and removal of some rear fender metal
- SSR Full Mesh 16x8 (front offset +13 and rear offset 0)
- gauges (donors- HKS, NISMO, BLITZ) H20 temp, oil temp, oil pressure, boost, voltmeter and Apexi- S-AFC
- ECU flash ROM by Summit Racing (Vertex T&E) and dyno tuned
- body kit? Type X front bumper spoiler, side skirts from Type III and rear lower bumper spoiler from my friend's junk yard
- Bride full bucket
- Takata harness
- booty-a$$ sound system
- all engine alumi pieces were hand-polished and OEM engine bolts were replaced with allen bolts wherever it was deemed best

All work by yours truly with exception of ECU and dyno (I suck at ECU tuning)

No, it doesn't, but i do like to keep it clean. As a matter of fact, it probably is dirty as f@*k right now, since it's home in Japan while I'm out here in the Middle East.

Thanks! I left all of my paperwork for the dyno runs at my house in Japan. When I get back next year, I'll definitely post the numbers. It'll definitely accompany the engine and tranny when I sell them since I'm going to be swapping out to an SR.

Roger that! I'm safe here in Bahrain with the exception of lousy drivers. My work is in direct support of our bros and sisters there in Iraq, which is just 250 miles up the road from here.

I know we have all heard it before, but "Every American" should be thankful that he or she was born an American becuz, man, we take freedom for granted too often. These folks over here have never known the type of living we have enjoyed. Even the most broke a$$ in America lives a life way above the average Iraqi, and the same can be said about most in the Middle East. The average salary in Bahrain is $600 a month, and it's not dirt cheap here.

OK, enough of that. Just when you're out getting sideways or busting a low E.T., do it for the bros and sisters out here who would love to be in your situation right now, and when someone thanks you for the good things America has done, take pride (yeah, we've done some lowdown bullshi_, 2, but we aren't perfect) and keep fighting for the freedoms we enjoy.

Yeah, I was thinking at the time I wanted that classic 240Z look as a tribute to those beautiful machines!

Anyway, these beautiful pieces are gonna go on sale later next year since I'm gonna be re-skinning Black Sunshine with some D-Max skins.

Stay "tuned", and they could be yours!
