This might be a custom build.
What material would you be looking to use?
re boot
mostly made out of canvas, pretty standard for convertables, sometimes is made out of vynal, at least thats been my experience. this covers the top when its down. prevents the top from catching air & flopping around. but mostly looks cool.

OHHHHHHHHHHHH
I thought you were talking a cover like the ones for a Miata or a S2000.
You are just talking about a cover to install when the convertable is down.
You might want to check you local yellow pages and find a convertable repair shop. They would be able to sew something up for you.

I have the parts lists for our cars but it is vague for the convertable.
You might want to try www.courtesyparts.com they would have the cover for you if it was a factory option.

I believe there was an FSM supplement for the convertibles.
Parts info will proably be hard to come by since the convertibles were made as coupes by Nissan and then converted by a shop in Cali... so all the convertible parts would have been made in the US.
Sorry for the vagueness, but you should have a label inside the driver's door jamb with the name of the shop that did the conversion - they should be able to point you in the right direction if Nissan fails.

Wow.
That's the truth. I'd guess that's the reason there was a convertible only in '94. Nissan probably had to sign a contract for a certain number of conversions. S13 sales were high when they likely signed, and very low by the end of the model run. They probably had to go convertible only just to meet their part of the contract.
Just speculation there, but I can't think of any other reason for the convertible only year.

i mentioned that today at work to a general car buff and he said that there are a half a dozen cars that were made that way, a cadallac, a lexas, vw & the 240sx, made in 93 & 94 like i should just know that. go figure, i'm an idiot.

If there was a convertible lexus before the SC430, I never saw one.
There was a convertible Infinity - the M30. That car likely got the same convertible treatment as the 240.
The only Caddy convertible in recent memory was the Allante. That was designed from the ground up as a convertible. It was a very low volume car, but all were convertibles. It was a breakthrough car for having a front driven V8.
Not sure about the VW - that one could be right. Everything else is not.

The VW is right. I have read about it and when I was shooting in E-Town I ran into a guy with a yellow convertable two years ago. He had gotten the car from a Cali shop that was doing the chops straight from the dealer.
justinb you hit the nail on the head. my '93 was custimized by a company called ASC(car number 1129) which goes alon w/ what you wrote earlier. the guy i bought the car from said that they only 3500 cnvtbles in 93 & 94. that number seems low to me.
