Thumbs up Creative Fix

Hi, I have a small crack in my dash board, directly in the center above my steering wheel (can't be seen in picture somehow). I would like to prevent it from growing, and would like to cover it up by mounting something over it. If you guys have any ideas, or know of anyone mounting something in that location, please reply in this thread. I don't want to spend $800 to buy a new dash, and I am not in a location to buy a used one.

Here is a picture if you guys would like to photoshop some stuff:

You are close, I'm actually in New Mexico. The sunshield is a good idea. I would like to cover up the crack with something, I really don't want to get a dashmat though.

I have the same things, but holes from the previous owner who had a huge tach. I dont know why he wanted another tach, but oh well it got stolen out of and there are holes in the dash. I was thinkin about going tommorow to the store, get some black tape, and vinal(sp) paint and tape the little part that's messed up and then paint over it. Maybe you could bondo the vynal(sp)? I just picked up my 240sx today like a coule hours ago.

That could work, let us know how it goes mane. I was thinking about mounting a cordless radar detector in the spot where my crack is with some black velcro. I need to find an affordable slim one though.

Yeah it's around $888 for a new dashboard. Even in California.

Oh, I got you mane. I'm going to be out in California pretty soon, so hopefully i'll find a good used one while i'm out there.

La Phantom 240 - I called alot of local junkyards, and only one had an s14 dashboard, and it was grey in color (probably blue). The area i'm at isn't really good for used parts, I am really looking forward to California.

Awesome, I'm glad to see someone on the board from the 'burque' haha. That's my hometown. Where you from man? Looks like Rio Rancho. Yeah 240 parts are hard to come by out there. Back in Albuquerque, my coupe would be king, out here it's just another coupe in SoCal.
