custom overfenders for 18x13"

well, here are some pics of our overfender project to clear
the 18 x 13" rims. idea started out as just some nice fender flares
and turned into complete rear quarter panel flares.
this is 2-days work(about 6-8 hours after work, so we still gotta do the other side
tomorrow, and then smooth them out for paint.

Dam man that is pretty cool. Nice job. But do you think it will be hard to make the other side like just like that.

Anyways, progress pics. Started sanding down the passenger side, pulled the panel off, resined the inside, and taped it back up so it'd retain its shape while curing:

It's also trimmed a bit more. You can see the lip of the overhang:

started up the panel for the other side:

And did some quality checks to make sure everything is even:

tonight myself and pj(owner of car) pulled off the drivers side panel and resined the back side and remounted.

we also frenched in the stock gas door to the panel on pass. side

i'll put the pics up as soon as pj posts them.
looks bad as hell!!!

im just really happy with the progress and results so far.
this is my first attempt at making body panels.
im used to making custom subwoofer boxes.
im just carrying over the basic principles of building those(boxes)
and applying them to the car.

Need to finish it so it can get a quick coat of paint before event 1.

The car is a purpose built autocross car. This is the car it replaced:

- Koni 8611 Double Adjustable shocks/ struts
- Lots of heim jointed control arms
