Die Trying: Take 2

7 Attachment(s)
Well after the demise of my flat black terror (95 Se), i decided to try something different for a change. after a few months of searcing, i picked up this 95 Se on ebay. ive only owned black cars my whole life, so at first i wasnt crazy about the color (though it has grown on me) and when i saw the interior i just had to have it.

The day i took it home i removed the stock lip and put my Greddy lip on and replaced the stock Grill with a jdm Silvia grill
Attachment 15918

Attachment 15919
besides that, i had to replace the rad, water pump, brakes, all that jazz

Now that the weather in Jersey is getting beautiful, (and drift season is here) i recently started working on it again. a few weeks ago i put my Vis carbon hood on.

Future plans:
put my recaro seats in
Attachment 15920

5-speed swap so i can drift

suspension: still doing my research on what will be best for me

Paint:
since i work at a body shop, i have the oppurtunity to paint the S14 whatever color i want. i like the badass look though, so im feeling either gunmetal or satin black

Body:
i have a new front bumper and 20mm wide extreme demension fenders that im going to put on. i need a new Greddy lip because it got busted up.

Rims: maybe 350z track rims, but im not sure just yet.

Engine:
VQ35DE
after years of research, i think the VQ will be the best choice for me. Ka-T is great and all but ive had three cars (two S14s and a 95 altima) now with that motor and i want something different

plenty more to come!

Looks nice so far. I think that Satin black cars are sick, but amazingly hard to maintain. Either of those colors would look great with that hood.

energy0uth 04-23-2008 08:58 AM

should look good and so far so good

Fries 04-23-2008 12:49 PM

<3 excited for another beast ass s14 on club schassis. Zenki Love.

94Boy 04-23-2008 01:00 PM

Die Trying 04-23-2008 01:10 PM

it seems everytime i get a little money saved, its gotta go into fixing things on my car. i had the tie rods and tension rods replaced recently. other than that, i found a set of 18 inch G35 rims on ebay. they really killed the wheel gap in the rear.
the next step is to get my Recaro seats in

HAHA, a five-speed swap so I can drift . . . isn't that a lyric in one of those Honda songs? BWAHAHAHAHAHAHA! Just kidding, looks nice, that thing is coming along very well.

Hell, I'd leave it automatic for daily driving then get another for drifting if that's your strawberry flavor . . .

ha
i had to peeee really realy bad after a long drive and i pulled up to my apartment too fast and came to close to the curb. it was like 30 degrees out so it kinda shattered

it didnt bother me that much because i was coming back after picking up my m4 carbine airsoft gun
Attachment 14831

not to mention i scraped every little dip in the road

MS!3 06-09-2008 08:10 PM

lmao damn you scrap that lip? Manahawkin must be crater city.

battosaii930 06-09-2008 09:07 PM

dude how do you scrape? you have like massive clearance lol anyway coming along nicely just need lower

Die Trying 06-10-2008 02:40 PM

ha i do now. i didnt before i put the rims on. when i put the rims on, it put my car like 3 feet up in the air. coilovers are on my list. my suspension is worn out so everyone would always ask me, "is your car lowered?" i could hardly stick my foot under the lip, now my whole foot goes under there

ps nice sig haha

BlackZenki82 06-15-2008 08:24 AM

My neighbor has that ruby pearl color on his 96, i think i may like it a bit better than my black, but he says that about mine.... tight work on the car tho, it's looking really clean, hope to get mine to that level sometime soon...still have the stock lip? been looking for one that isn't 250, hard to find....lemme know!

Die Trying 06-19-2008 06:42 PM

hey thanks for the compliments. i like black cars a lot. i actually sold the stock lip a little while ago. i know they are mad hard to find at a decent price

motegineon 06-19-2008 11:05 PM

good gawd

please lower your car before you do anyyyyyyyyyyything else

not trying to be a dick, but it wouldve looked a thousand times better lowered on stock wheels than putting those g35's on and keeping that horrendous ride height

USMCDrifter 06-19-2008 11:20 PM

It is up there, but I can't talk, I've got my fair share of ground and wheel clearance on the Bullitt.

how dare you

just kidding. this is true.

since i need a new suspension, my original plan was to slam the car on the stock wheels. then i went to try and pass new jersey's nazi inspection and failed for tires (tires wernt too bad but you know, they HAD to fail me for something) so i picked up the infinity rim and tire package from a dude named Hector for pretty much what i would have spent on new tires for the stock wheels. couldnt pass

but this is my promise to you motegineon....

"I swear i will lower my car" (in Arnold voice)
Attachment 14557

Kaiser 07-01-2008 12:21 AM

lol I like how they just "HAD" to fail you on something. New tires are great to have though, just too bad you had to get them on someone else's time line.

USMCDrifter 07-01-2008 02:38 AM

Yup, the forums have their haters no matter what! LOL! They can never just have someone do something on a forum, ever! Tis why I'm glad I'm in motorsports.

i painted a new bumper and fixed the Greddy lip. figured i wasnt in a position to spend $300 on another one. the lip was in three pieces so i cut up my old bumper and used a few pieces to fill in the holes and used this urethane glue that sands like body filler when it dries.

coilovers will be on their way...but not today...or tomorrow

Fries 02-01-2009 03:59 PM

Im excited to she'll look like with coilovers.
Spacers+ satin paint job on G35 wheels = cheap Gram light Opts?

Die Trying 02-04-2009 09:18 PM

true that! probablly still going with satin gunmetal for the body. i want it to look like a stealth bomber

...i like mine with no shine

Darkvillin 02-08-2009 11:49 PM

i hope to come and see u when im ready to make my car NOT gold. are the rims on your car still satin black?

Evans1109 02-12-2009 11:00 AM

The black def makes a nice change.

240smoke 02-12-2009 11:05 AM

How much was your Hood? I kinda like that style. I need to buy a new one cause a deer Flucked mine.

Die Trying 02-12-2009 03:15 PM

thanks guys. the rims are indeed still black and are holding up great, considering i took a decent amount of time to prep each rim.

that hood was just about $600 with the shipping. but since my first s14 needed it it was a no brainer to pick it up. the thing weighs nothing compared to that heavy stock one...which just sits in my room

shaban 02-12-2009 04:49 PM

So when are you planning on slamming that thing with some crazy ass camber?

Darkvillin 02-13-2009 05:17 PM

yeah! what he said....

Die Trying 02-13-2009 05:48 PM

haha oh man i wish i could bring that thing back down to earth sooo bad. ive been looking into coilovers but at the same time i need to be getting ready for a 5-speed swap since my car doesnt go into reverse anymore. ive been keeping my eye out for a used setup, maybe i can get my hands on something just to lower the front for now. just temporary until i can get the real deal. what do you guys think?

Darkvillin 02-14-2009 08:16 AM

i say save money till coilovers or get kyg shocks n springs. i think if you lower the front and keep the back up you are gonna have that 1980s ish IROC Z28 drag racer wannabe look. lol

shaban 02-14-2009 10:00 AM

save ya money, get the 5-sp swap done quicker. win the lottery.
