wow...just wow....
I hope you find a way to get those bolts out without striping the treads on the block :crap: im gonna be watching this thread closely because Ihave a coupe' andI would like to go rb20 in the far distance future lol Good luck :headbang2: |
Well guys, here's a trick:
I was told this by a guy I know. Weld a washer (weld the hell out of it) to the bold head. Then weld the hell out of a nut to the washer, starting at the bottom (on the inside) then work upwards until it almost bubbles out. I'm going to need new studs but oh well. ARP's are in order. |
dude the swap looks good

Thanks. It's the car that's being a pain ;)

Update: Got the 1.2mm Cometic in today. Standard 80mm bore. However, there is NO WHERE WHATSOEVER for the 3 bolts I stripped to go. Maybe they aren't bolts. But either way, I got the 14 bolts out that actually go THROUGH the gasket. Any suggestions as to why the Head won't pop off? I pried like a mofo and it wouldn't BUDGE.

Here it is, my dilemma. What do those 3 bolts in the middle do? They obviously don't go into the block.

Found this little helper. The 3 bolts I stripped have nothing to do with the head. The 3-10mm ones are the ones I missed. |
