Headlight Conversions

Hey guys... I was wondering... do these headlights only come with specific body kits, or how does this work?

Thanks, Mark

those are the strawberry s15 headlights, they are jdm and didnt not come on any 240 in the us. They sell conversion kits for 240sx's tho, they sell em a enjukuracing.com and autoimaging.com

WOW that's expensive.

$3000usd

Better start thinking about other alternatives...

I LOVE this:

most kits cost a bit there are eastbear and the abflug kitls that are both conversions with the s13 you can also do a silvia front end and that cost about a grand but dont be spending to much on your front end if you drift....

audiophile 03-14-2003 04:09 PM

yeah i realize spending tons of money is futile if its going to be a tracked racecar, but this is going to be a driver, that may occasionally get thrown into a drift...

as for the kits you mentioned; do they have the S15 lights?

i *LOVE* those lights on the first pic, but they arent worth a $3000usd front end conversion.

HMMMM.......

Ok the first pics of the bomex 180 with a strawberry front is clean as hell....but its hard to find someone to do the swap....ive only seen one company that does the (s15) swap on all 240 models 89+.....the second car is from veilside....and they dont offer the headlight conversion anymore...i know because i called them trying to get them to offer it if i payed a little more....they wont budge....i like the veilside conversion....its f*ckin clean......

ok, befor he starts thinking that S15 lights on a 240 is called a sb face kit...

the S15 headlights on to the 180, S13, and S14 was popularized by a company called West Yokohama in japan, and their kits were called SB Face kits. The only reason that WY made it popular is because they were the first ones to have the custom fenders, custom hoods, and custom bumpers be able to match up exactly with the rest of the car..

http://www.h4.dion.ne.jp/~west-y/

So unless you have a WY kit, dont call it a sb face...which can be had for about 2k (no longer 3k.. about $500 for fenders, $500 for bumper, $500 for hood, $500 for lights) last time I did the yen conversion, just say you have an S15 front, or you have a 1540..

The other flat lights/lexen light kit you posted can be had for about $500-800 depending on what company you buy them from. As Cat said, you can get them from AbFlug, East Bear, or even the company I sell for, Rear Out Garage.

Another style:

I might be wrong here (which would come as no surpise:p ), but I thought the term "strawberry face" came from the fact that the word for "15" in Japan is "ichi-go", which is similar to (if not the same as) the Japanese word for strawberry. Kind of a play on words? :dunno:

ichi go is actually one-five....not 15.

ChibaDrifter 03-17-2003 12:08 AM

any one besides West Yokohama calls it a 1580...

edit: ok, after calling a friend from Shizouoka everyone just calls whatever its on an S15 faced ____ (insert car here).

there...simple enough...no need for further talk

another great example of mass missinformation
