HOW do you BUFF paint???

i got some fades on my hood, i was wondering, some people tell me that i can buff out the paint and it would look new again, but i have no idea how you can do that, what would you need? and how do you do it???? someone please help!!

If your paint is looking dull, I would suggest polishing it. Polishing is best(most say only..) done with a buffer(random orbital type, Porter Cable being the best choice), so if you dont have one, you will not get the results you are looking for.

That combined with a nice wax on top will bring back the shine.

if you have various spots you may need to wet sand it. then it'll look good as new... after you buff it and then wax it.

Wet sanding is a horrible idea unless you are a pro... or you dont care to screw up a few times(and by that i mean remove paint). wet sanding is NOT for beginners, period.

If a good polish(try a mild polish first), doesnt remove hazing/fading, your paint must be in very bad condition.
