I've seen widebodies... so howd they do it???

I've narrowed my choice of cars that I may buy down to a precious few and a s13 or s14 are on the top of the list. Most likely a 89-low 90's 240... But heres my question:
I plan on having a car that is very streetable etc. But I will be needing a widebody. Both for look preferences and because of the wheel size I will be running. I have seen several widebody 240s out there, specifically a VERY nice looking blue one on somebody's profile on this forum... But as I have searched I've found that there appear to be no actual widebody kits sold for the car... So what goes into making these cars widebody? I have heard much mention of getting wider flares.. But I'm looking for a kit that widens out the wheel wells and carries that width all the way to the bottom of the body, not just tapering out at the top of the wheel well to give some extra room - I hate that. So... do you ahve to buy certain fenders and mold them with existing kits, or is it all custom...? Thanks!

THere are actual widebodies sold like, MSports, BN Sports,. etc...

Or you can get fender flares, see sig. Theyre molded and the fenders are cut to accomodate the wider wheels...

if you want a real wide body, BN sports is your answer, but dont think you'll be able to drive that.

50mm front 70mm rear.

forget all those companies, best place for wide fenders is version select

thats what i got.

Bomex 180 - I really like what you have on the blue 240... I've been planning on almost the exact same thing with my own personal preferences naturally (Volk GTC wheels, bit different hood etc.)

But the blue with black hood/top is the paint scheme I had planned and although I am looking to use a bit different front bumper thats a bit simpler, that car shows me that I can really do what I wanted with this car...

My dad is building an airplane and so he and I both have some good experience with both high quality/high fitment fiberglass fabrication and also carbon fiber, so altering body peices isn't a big deal.

Was the front bumper and the side skirts just normal peices originally? As in no intention of widebody use...
I ask because I'm wondering if you had to have the skirts/bumper modified at all to blend well with the wider fender flares since the flares appear to carry down onto them.

And what model are the skirts? Because those are perfect.

Over in AU we have full wide body kits for AU$1200. That includes fibre glass front gaurd and fibre glass rear gaurds..... The old rear gaurds have to be cut out and cleaned.. then the kit bolts on.... after some bog and a respray the car will look like this........

Unfortunately, that full widebody kit on the AU car makes me cringe. It's the embodiment of a really good idea executed very badly... not very appealing at all.

It usally has 19x10's on the rear so it fills the gaurds up. The kit pritty much keeps the 180sx body but pumps them 30-40mm wider.
