except for the occasional bouncing tach when stopped (trying to figure out what causes this, cause it doesnt always do this), a few dents on the body, and a HARD hitting 2nd gear, it's pretty good..

one thing, though, im getting HORRIBLE gas mileage, im talking a 1/4 tank per 5 miles, yet it passed smog...

i dont know what's causing it, but i think this might be the culprit.




what do you guys say?

i have no fluid leaks, the car doesnt smell like gas, it idles at 700 (for the most part), and my exhaust is not black at all...

im dumbfounded..

p.s. it isnt a broken gas gauge, cause when i fill up, it goes up relative to the ammount i put in..

 

Thats your AIV, it is there for emission purposes and can be removed. I dunno if it effects gas mileage any, but it is known to make your car idle better when removed. Also don't know if you'll pass emissions with it taken out.

 

i got it smogged literally 3 days ago, so if i can get rid of it for a while, ill do it...

any steps on removing it and then blocking off the tubes.?

 

yeah it wont affect your millage maybe give you an extra one or two, just plug up the exhaust manifold...

 

$800 not bad... maybe you can use some of the money you saved to buy Photoshop =P j/k

and i realized gas isnt as bad as i originally thought, it takes a few to pressurizie, but gas still sucks...
