My 1995 Base

Bought this at the end of september after wrecking my '01 Prelude SH. Got it for a good price knowing that big plans lay ahead for it. The front end has a few dents which is why the bra is on it. Nothing major, but it doesn't look good right now.
Any pictures with 'cardomain' in it, are from the old owners site.

Ugly wheels

New parts
Everything I need for the auto->manual conversion I hope

Tein Flex Coilovers installed the night they came in

My invoice for the new motor, picking it up this weekend

Future plans...
Fully built SR20DET Redtop
300ZX Front Brakes
5 Lug conversion (actually just waiting to take it off this guy's car)
TEC IIIr Standalone
Those are the definates anyway.

-Bill

that "bra", take it off in my opinion. it's nice to protect against stone chips, but the car underneath doesn't get washed, and water just sits there...that's my opinion on that

anyway, nice and CLEAN ride !

believe me, i don't want the bra on there, it's just that under it, the hood is all banged in, the bumper is scratched up and missing chunks of paint. It looks "better" with it on there. When I fix my front end, I'll let you know Malicex000. I think they got it from the Nissan dealer. But as soon as I can take it off I will.

looks good, what did you pay for those teins? I am thinking of going with a tein suspension on my s13, all I can afford are used ones though. I think it looks alright with the bra, but get the fron fixed,e it off. Girls look good with bras on, but even better with them off, same is true with your s14.

The Teins I got for 1000 plus shipping from a guy on this board. They are used, but they still work fine. I like them a lot.

Some good has come from it, but there's a cost to it all. For example, I can't currently walk. I have six screws and a big 'L' bracket inside my right leg to replace the ankle I shattered. I'm having to pay the hospital for what wasn't covered by insurance, shrinks, time away from work (I was out for 6 weeks), and legal fees, too.

It hasn't been all bad, though. The Lude was showing signs that it needed a new bottom end, and I get to finally build my car to my tastes. I'm really enjoying working on this car/engine. It's a lot easier to work on than the Honda was.

Well this weekend I picked up the engine.
At Lightspeed.

In the Truck

Well we got it to my friend Kevin's storage unit and that's when the fun began.
We opened up the valve cover.

Looked pretty good so far, it tured over by hand pretty well. But i knew that there would be some problems because I bought it knowing it had a knock.

We got the head off earlier today. Found the problem with the engine. Our guess is that the previous owner got a little boost happy and ran the engine lean.

This is the Number one piston, the rest were in nice shape. Number two spun a bearing though. I know the picture isn't the greatest but there is some serious scoring on the top of the piston. The mark is marker. The cylinder walls look to be in good shape still, you can still see the honing marks. The combustion chamber in this cylinder is pretty eaten up. I should have a pic of that soon. But all in all, the engine seems like it is in nice shape.

Oh in the box of goodies I got with it, I got a damn near complete wiring harness. It was a nice unexpected surprise.

Guess which cylinder is the bad one

two oil pans
Removing the first one, it does have a slight dent in it.

Removed the second one.

How much did you pay for that? If you know how to fix it, then it doesn't look too bad. The car's gonna be nice and quick . Are you ever going to be able to walk again, that sounds like quite a mangling you got. How did it happen might I ask?

no i don't know how to fix it myself. A little beyond my scope of knowledge and equipment. I need to find a machine shop that likes to work with aluminum. Plus I need an overbore anyway.

About the leg:
I will be able to walk again, they tell me on November 30 I can take the boot off. I don't know how much rehab I'll have though, because my muscle is so puny in that leg right now.

How it happened:
Driving too damn fast on a road I didn't know. Ran off the road on a turn, nailed a church sign raised up on stones. Flipped the car end over end and then rolled it. Woke up in the ER to four big guys holding me down and setting my ankle. This all happened August 19.
