new $350 car

well, I finally got around to taking pictures of my new car, 1990 240sx.

when i first got the car, it was disgusting. the rockers were hanging off the body, the lip was hanging off one side. the interior was stained with dirt/grime and smelled bad.

but as an assistnat mechanic and having a shop with lifts and REALLY good prices on parts, I managed to spend around $600 on parts and about 16 hours of work to get it saftied and cleaned up.

- Exhaust
- 2 rear rotors
- 2 rear e-brake cables
- 2 rear calipers
- rear pads
- new tires
- LF marker light
- Bodywork
- Paint
- Detailing
- Headlights / Foglamps
- All Fluids Serviced (Oil, Brake / Clutch Fluid, Power steering, Transmission Fluid, Gear oil, Antifreeze)

I have yet to do the input shaft bearing (making a grinding noise, im assuming it dried up, or it spun) in the transmission and a couple other small things. Tranny rebuild and im considering a gasket set and timing chain tensioner/guide for the engine.

Possibly, Custom tinting, re-clear (nothing is wrong with the clear coat that is on it) but i would like to add chrome flakes to give it a "ooooh look at that car sparkle" look lol.

next summer i want to pick up a 180sx RHD and then put my time and money into that one.

Once it warms up the idle sits around 450-500 RPM, deep idle note from the exhaust. I adjusted the idler screw.

it's suprising on how fast my car heats up though, the thing was sitting there for about 8 minutes in winter, and it was almost warmed up. Probly a winter thermostat in it.
