Yes it runs, but it needs new rings. I haven't decided whether to go with an engine swap or just keep the current motor. It will be on the road soon hopefully .

Yeah I couldn't believe I got him to drop the price so much. The next day he said he got a call from a guy who had came to look at it before and he offered him $1500 for it, so yeah, I got a steal.

Thanks. I do live in central ny where rust is a problem with older cars. But the only rust on this car was the old hatch, which I replaced with a newer one as soon as I got the car. The rust was where the previous owner removed the foam spoiler, and I have to replace the piece in between the tail lights. Here's a pic of the nasty old hatch, but it's now replaced.

dayyyaaam... I thought my rust damage was bad until i looked at yours. Is there rust in the trunk where the spare tire is? I fixed my rust there last week with bondo and some sprary paint. all for under 20 bux.

Yes there was a little bit inside the hatch under the spare but I cleaned that up nice and used the bondo just how you did, it worked great. Now i'm trying the sleepy eyes thing, I just read in another post that you can cut the brown wire under the button and get the same effect? Someobne please clarify that so I don't just go cutting wires for no reason. Thanks for the replies guys.

I thought I got a steal for my s-13 with 119K miles. I paid 1600 for it. Of course, repais cost more than the car itself, needed to get a new engine cause the previous owner cracked it. That and I had to put in a new cooling system. Grrr... But dang, that hatch is messed up sickly.
