rear fender folly

rear fender folly

well after years of readin i never realized that u cant replace the rear fender, u have to bondo it, right? dats not cool but whatever works. if im wrong tell me thanks.

Well...you can use rivits...or weld it if its metal, then smooth it out. Bondo is just to fill in holes/imperfections not to actually put the quarter pannel on...

depends on the model, the fastback is the only 240sx with replaceable fenders. on coupes the fenders and roof are one piece so you end up laying the wide fenders over the stockers and cut around the wheel well.

Why? The only thing I wouldnt mess with is the paint....

yea i knew fasho i couldnt take them off i was scrapin bubled clear coat off and i noticed that it was one piece, yuck, oh well tho i still want some sick wide fenders for the front n the back

quarter panel replacement aint all that bad... and as far as the structural part of the car... you are only removing the damaged outter skin not the whole inner structure as well... if you are just adding the wide body fenders then yo leave the stock sheet metal alon and overlay the fiberglass onto the stock sheet metal... cut the metal quarter panel wheel opening out and you are set to go...

if you want to get fancy and have some skills with fiberglass and bondo you can even make an inner fender skirt to hide the old sheet metal of the factory fender... but that is getting into the hard core stuff and takes a lot of time and work... if i ever get my wide fenders im going to build the inner skirts... but that wont be till this winter some time...
