Removing Decals

Removing Decals

I just bought a 240. It's got some decals i dont like on the side. How do i remove them without screwing up the paint and leaving a residue? Also how expensive is it to close up the holes where the old spoiler was. and have them painted and ****. I either want to buy a new wing or just leave it without. Anyone have any ideas???

buy it. it attaches to your power drill and takes it all off in a matter of minutes. just be careful, it can burn through clearcoat if you keep it on too long

Those look cheap - should be pretty easy. Hair dryer or heatgun if available, and pick away at it. I just hand made a tool - took a clothes pin - bent the point side out, taped the other end to a small wood cylinder and voila...I've got a pick thing.

alright, i went and tried to pull off the decals. They come off easy as all hell, seems like there magnatized . j/p. but i didn't take them off because under the decal the paint is a little different and u can tell there was a design there. Any one help me with this conflict?

Yes - you're probably seeing some weird residue left from the stickers itself. Find yourself some light light lightly abbrasive compounds and just rub it out, it'll eventually come off with car washes. But if you want it done quick, grab some goo-gone, or talk to a local shop to get them to polish it out.

i jsut got some water and scrubed a little bit. Came right off. Thanks for the help. Next thing i gotta do it bug and tar remover. I got little tar speckles everywhere and it's damn annoying

you should go to ur local Autozone or car shop and get sum Bondo or body filler and fill in those holes for the wing and then sand, primer, paint, clear coat

its pretty cheap shouldnt cost more than 15-20 bucks for everything.

me and a friend spent the afternoon today with a heat gun and peeled off the ugly pinstripes the previous owner put on and took off the dealer sticker on the back....I love heat guns

I use 3M rubbing compound instead of goo gone, but I'm pretty sure they both work similarly.

How about taking off the nissan decal in the front of the car. Any advice on taking that off?

i dont think so...but im not sure its either goo gone of goof off, i bought some (one of those two, i dont remember) to help take the pinstripes off of my old celica, and it doesnt do anything...nothing, it was a waste of money
