Lol, wow. I've never really heard someone doing that before!
Seriously; all flames aside, that is something you DO NOT want to do. You'll end up melting your blinker lights, or whatever lights you try to do that to.
The term "smoking" comes from exactly what you were thinking, but it's only the smoked effect. What you really want to use is like Spencer said, transparent film or transparent spray-on. I'm sure if you PM him, he can show you a picture of his tail lights that he did, they look amazing!
His name is "silviaks2nr", you can even see the car in his sig, it's pretty sweet.
Just for the record, for anyone else who thinks "smoking" your taillights, headlights, blinkers, etc. Is holding a lighter up to it and getting the soot all over it--DO NOT DO THIS. It will damage your lights!!
P.S. - Nothing wrong with the east coast, you bastards!

Well, it may sound extremely ghetto, but I took the Aspec clear bumper lights, coated them with clearcoat, and then used a very light amount of flat black, to match up better with my car's paint. Of course, it has to be VERY light. Works with gloss black too
Ive been working a lot. Things were REALLY busy. Things are getting back to normal now. I wont be on much for the next week or two though; im putting my 240 back into action.
