Just lookin for a little help . . .

I just installed an aftermarket carbon fiber trunklid from seibon for my 93 hatchback but as weird as it sounds my "trunk lifters", if that's the right name for them, were way too strong for the new trunk. Does anybody know where or from who I could get some weaker ones that would still lift my trunk buy not be too strong for it?

How are they "too strong"?

 

the lifts are too much for it. if i put in the originals they flip up the trunk too quickly and thus might crack the lid.

 

dont use the lifters then.

 

my lifters dont work consider your self lucky

 

get some ****ty old ones from a junk yard

 

yeah your not supposed to use the stock lifters...you gotta find other ones. i would say down to your local auto parts store and talk to one of the guys and see if they have anything else...

 

i got some decent ones from the local junkyard they were like 5 bucks each still work great

 

try using 1

 

i was told that 1 would throw it off too because it would exert too much pressure on the one side and might damage it even more than the 2 of em would

 

get a wooden dowel rod or somethin to prop it up and just leave it in your trunk it wont look great but it will work

 

srsly. I cant stand when mine dont work... i cant imagine not having em altogether.

 

LOL that sucks for those whos lifters don't work! maybe you can do something crazy like pimp my ride and use a electric controlled pump to lift and close your hatch LOL, J/K on that one

 

nah im not tryin to make it ghetto with a dowel rod im lookin for actual working ones. And i feel ya about not having em working i cant even get my key to work on the hatch cuz the lock is frozen.

 

like i said before i would get some worn out ones like mine the hatch is only like 5lbs right so i would check out the junk yard and get some that have been worn in
