tail light setup

for example.. turn on lights.. tail lights and corner lights (rear) stay on.. blinker off..

how do i make the blinker stay constant and when i hit the blinker, it starts blinking??

i heard that it has to deal with something called 'a floating negative'??

like.. if i connect the negative from the corner light to the blinker.. it'll stay on and when i hit the blinker.. it'll blink...

correct me if im wrong...

ok what you need to do is to add a relay to the wire that the signal is on, so that when power is originally supplied to the other lights the light is on. then when you put the signal switch on it turns from a constant to a pulsing. not to difficult if you understand relays.

i dont have a relay on hand so im gonna have to get one from work tomorrow so i can see the numbers on it. if you hook it up wrong alot of stuff can break because power only likes to flow in one direction. i know you hook up to 87, 87a and 30 on the relay but i forget off the top of my head in which order, basically you want the power to the relay which goes to your lights to be on all the time, then you connect the switched power to the switched part of the relay so that when it sees a change in power it knows to pulse the signal. if its any easier just look online for a diagram of a relay. you can get relays at any radio shack or parts store.
