I bought this 240 in February of '05, and it really only had a few problems (missing driver's side outer door handle, paint scratches, hazy and cracking rear window, and a tear in the driver's side seat.) Alpine CD Head unit as well as two 10" subs and a 2-channel Kicker amp. Since then I have added two 6.5" speakers to the rear. The front speakers are a work in progress. I'll post more pics on Saturday as soon as I have the new rear window installed as well as my intake.

Does anybody else around here have a convertible, and what have you done to it so far?

Converts are definately great! I wouldn't go so far as to say a car looks better than a girl with the top off, but its a close race!
What do you think you'll mod first?
I think converts look even better riding low to the ground... maybe some Tein S-tech springs for a 1.5' drop?

sometimes i think convertibles look better than fastbacks...but then i think about the practcality, performance and price...but if you have the resources and the money to buy one and stiffen it up...thats pimp...and i think i heard somewhere USDM verts only came in auto...is that true?...is yours stick?...looks nice...do a S13 conversion...get some coilovers and some nice wide rims...oh and keep the KA...a convertible must have some low *** miles...

it only cost me 2500, so the price wasn't too bad. they did all come in auto, but i'm trying to remedy that little problem currently.... oh, and it has 92k miles on it. the first real mod is likely to be a turbo for the KA, but that's gonna be a while (money all goes to college).
convertibles aren't as good as a girl with her top off, but it sure helps that part come faster, lol.

I own a vert aswell. I have dumped about 5G's into it and unfortunately it isnt that noticable yet because it is a rather tough car to mod. There are some differences.
In regards to the auto tranny deal. What I have found out thus far is that back in 92 - 94 nissan made a few coupe's that were auto with the intent to send a few to a shop in California to have chopped into vert's. Then they were sent back to Nissan which were then sent out to a few dealerships in Canada and the US for sale. They originally sold for 16995 in Canada in 1993. Im not too sure what they were going for in the US though. Sorry my friends to the South.
There were made in an automatic to have a safety feature for the roof so that you can only operate the roof in the "P" gear. However, that can be overided easily enough if you convert to a 5-speed.
So there is a little of the history of the 'vert 240sx from my researches.
Check out my cardomain site if you want some ideas of mods.

200hp??? where'd that come from? i could picture maybe 10 from I/H/E, but what else have you done to reach 200?
As I understand it, there were just shy of 20,00 convertibles produced, and in the U.S. they sold for 17-18 thousand dollars.

The I/H/E added 18 - 20hp (1/4 mile time used to estimate that Hp gain) the ECU was done shortly after getting me up to the 200 hp level. Sorry about the confusion I didnt realize that its not listed on the cardomain page.
