Angry What's up with my car!?!?!

Okay, I'm having a hard time figuring out what's up with my car. When I get up to about 55 + mph, the car has a really bad shimmy in the front end. I have a hard time holding the wheel straight. I looked around a little bit. I found that all my tires are the same EXCEPT the front passenger side,it is a different tread then the others. I ran my hand over the driver's side front tire and it's cupped- in other words it's not smooth like the unmatched tire is. I think it might be a strut. And, whatever it is, it's getting worse. Before it would start this at 65-70mph, now it starts at 55mph. If any of you guys might know what it is, please let me know. Thank you all so much!!!!!

my 95 le kinda does the same thing too... driving on the highway it vibrates quite a bit... not to the point that its hard to control but enough to send any female in to orgasmic seizures. I wanna know whats up to? It cant be abs because i dont have abs... and its hard to imagine there being some kind of electronic malfuntion...

that could be the problem there.. get your tires balanced or something. get them checked out.usually when a car shakes at 50+mph it has to do with tires/wheels. but then there are other things also. but thats just my guess

Check the tires inflation, the wheels balance and the alignment. It's probably one of those things.

Lightbulb i've got the solution to your problem.

It's called a pregnant tire. Or so it's called by the tire specialist's round my part of town. all's you gotta do is change the tire and your problems are as good as gone. I'm speaking from experience, I've had this happen to me. hope i helped.

Does it pull to one side pretty noticeably when you let go of the steering wheel? If so then it is either your tires need to be balanced or alignment.
