Surprise time off today, did some more work.

Finished cleaning the garage.

Braille battery mount came in. Mounted it up. I didn't used their J hooks, I just used a 6" threaded rod from Lowes. Easier to mount

Cusco license plate holder is for Type X and Silvia bumpers. To make it work on a US bumper is a pain. I paid to use it, and use it I will. End result. Eh, not bad. 4/10

My air compressor is too girlie for my 3" cut off wheel. Sawzall will be doing majority of the reinforcement bar cutting. More pix in a few days.

Nice work bro, What did you have to do in order to make the license plate holder work?

Evans1109: I just trimmed it to size so it would fit where the little vents are on the bottom of the bumper. Nothing hard, just took time to make it work.

Nickmerrone: Thanks for the garage compliments. It's the only reason I bought my house. Since I was 16 I wanted a garage, so I made sure to fill one my dreams when I bought my house. I'm planning some major upgrades for the garage this summer. If that happens, the yellow is going to change to another color, something just as vibrant, if not more. I may even add more colors. We'll see.

Here is my favorite garage picture:

I've been tied up with work all week. Finally had some free time tonight, and did what I've been avoiding. Trim the bumper support. Went better than expected. I'm very glad I didn't cut my face off.

Get the radiator support held in place, and mark where you need to cut.

Sawzall's and 3" cut off wheels are your friend.

End result.

Tight clearance.

More updates next week.

As always, more pix here.

I was out of town all weekend, but when I got home I wrenched for a little.

I took the die grinder to the trimmed reinforcement bar and cleaned up all the jagged edges. I also put some rubber trimming where it's closest to the intercooler.

I went to DC to hang out with a friend who flew in from out of town. Decided to pickup some parts from another friend in MD since I was close by. I got a crack head deal on these parts, and I'd be crack head NOT to of picked them up. I've already put one of them up for sale.

Package.

Part 01 unwrapped. I'll keep this probably.

Part 02 unwrapped. This is up for sale. If I don't get enough money for it, I'll keep it.

More this week...

UPDATE!

Rough week at work. Got in the garage and tooled for a bit to cool the brain.

Mounted up the carbon fiber hood. The hole for the hood prop was too small. I had to enlarge that. I'm still test fitting it. I can't get the hood to close properly. It's pretty annoying. Any tips?

I then took off the front suspension, all of it. Took maybe an hour.

Next up is removal of the exhaust and drive shaft. Hopefully I'll have time this weekend.

Pix:

Entire front suspension out:

Driver side:

Passenger side:

Practically no rust found.

More pix here.
