i had plenty of time to look over builds today. taking a day off from work is no fun when it's becuase of being sick so i had to make the best of it somehow.

i'm curious as to why you had a shop install the new bushing on the axle housing when you have a press of your own. you might have covered this in the other thread but i didn't read every post, i mainly read a few statements and looked at the pictures.

My press is a death trap painted orange. Plus I don't have the proper races to remove and press in the bushings/bearings. Third, the shop can do the work in 1/3 the time I would take me. I barely have time to wrench on it as it is. Any work done on this car has cost me severely in the form of a social life of ANY sort. I'm just not willing to do it any longer.

On that note, I just wrenched on it tonight, and I'm about to update my post there.

iirc you have a 20 ton press, mine is a 12 ton so i agree that it's not the best. i've been tempted to weld the frame to keep it from flexing, but so far it's done the job just fine. i belive it was a 1/2 drive 9/16 socket that i used to remove my bushings.
