Two things

1-I think there should only be 4 BUMPS for a topic in FS.
2- Also I think there should be a "Other Things" in FS
Things where you can post things that are not for cars.

if someone has to bump their item 4 times its probly not gonna sell. but other things aint a bad idea. but then again this is a 240 site, not ebay forum.

1) I don't think thats a good idea... maybe allow only so many bumps per day/week, but if I bump a product 4 times over the course of a month, would I not be allowed another shot? Besides, if they limit bumps, it may increase reposts, which will clutter up the forums.

2) I like that idea, I've seen that in some of my other forums, its the classifieds equivalent of the OT.

Good luck with your ideas!

But some people do not like EBAY. Any way I think this forum should have it.

ebay charges sellers, open classified ads would be free! Also, I'd be more inclined to buy from a respected member of this community than an ebay seller with a high rating. Buying from a forum just feels more local than a faceless ebay purchase, IMO.

Btw, thanks for the sig love!

going through e-bay the buyer is protected, while on here, the buyer is more open to fraud.

Yeah, but when a bad seller posts on ebay, you can't let everyone know to be careful... really, this shouldn't be compared to ebay so much as Craigs List, the Pennysaver, or any other classifieds site.

I just think that when you are a member of a community, such as a forum, its no longer a truly anonymous sale. People get to "know" one another on these sites, and a sense of trust is more likely to be developed.

Personally, I've made purchases (including the car I now drive) through a variety of forums , and I've bought off ebay, and never had a problem with either. But if the seller is saving money on listing fees, maybe those savings will get passed on to buyer, making everybody happy.

um PayPal? lol. How do you pay for anything you buy in the classifieds? I don't like the bump rule because sales can fall through multiple times because of some ******* who dont have the cash. I like the non automotive classifieds though, Zilvia has it. They have way more sellers though.

1. It's too dificult to moderate something like that. I would just ignore it.

2. Like most have mentioned here if you have other items, I would use ebay.

face-less is sometimes good. it doesnt create hard feelings between two respected forum brothers if ish isnt handled properly between parties. and then who would take care of conflicts? admin? i say NAY. selling a car is simple. u post, u look at the post, go check the car out and maybe buy it. u actually get to see the car. i dont think this is the place for that stuff. just my $.02

im on a couple local forums here in Virginia and they fail horribly with limiting the bumps...in the rules it says only 1 bump allowed per day and nothing can be bumped after its not been active for 6 months....and it doesnt work at all

like the admin said.....its just to much to moderate..
